Active Ingredients

Plus menthol 0.5% for a cooling feel, in a water, glycerin and petrolatum base.

Sophorae Flavescentis Radix 1.5%

Ku Shen (Sophora root) has been used in Chinese herbal medicine for itchy, irritated skin. Lab studies of its compounds, such as matrine, show calming effects on skin inflammation.

Cnidii Fructus 3%

She Chuang Zi (Cnidium fruit) is a classic Chinese herb for itchy skin. Its main compound, osthole, has been studied for anti-itch and antimicrobial effects in the lab.

Borneolum Syntheticum 2%

Bing Pian (borneol) gives a cooling feel by acting on the skin’s TRPM8 cold receptor, which can ease the urge to scratch.

Stemonae Radix 0.5%

Bai Bu (Stemona root) is traditionally used in Chinese herbal skin washes and creams for itchy skin.

A Traditional Formula, Made Transparent

Chinese herbal medicine has used herbs like She Chuang Zi and Ku Shen on itchy skin for centuries. We started QICAOGANGMU in 2018 to make that tradition easy to trust: every ingredient and percentage on the label, independent steroid testing, and honest, research-led information. Our story.

Recommended for people with EczemaI’ve been using this cream for 2+ years now and it’s been helping my eczema a lot! I wish it came in bigger tubes and/or a jar version so it can last longer- since I have a lot of areas on my body to have use it. Nonetheless, it works!Chánne Wright · Verified Amazon purchase · 29-Jul-2026Read on Amazon
Works well! This lotion helped a lot! There was really no greasiness to speak of. The scent was not too aggressive. My skin isn't as itchy anymore. The bottle is a good size to carry around too.Nikki Tran · Verified Amazon purchase · 20-Feb-2025Read on Amazon

Common questions

Does QICAOGANGMU contain steroids?

No. The formula contains no corticosteroid, and batch QCGM-202605 was tested by TÜV SÜD PSB (ISO/IEC 17025): all eight corticosteroids screened were Not Detected at a 50 ppm limit. See the lab reports.

What skin is it for?

Dry, itchy, irritated and rough skin. Many customers use it as part of their routine for eczema-prone or psoriasis-prone patches. It is a skin-care cream, not a medicine, so see a doctor about persistent or severe rashes.

Can I use it on my face?

Yes, as a thin layer after a patch test. Keep it away from the eyes, inside the nose and mouth, and broken skin.

Can children use it?

It is not recommended for children under 2, because it contains menthol and borneol. For older children, follow the pack directions and ask a doctor about widespread rashes.
